Art Program & Curriculum
October 20, 2009We have completed 6 weeks of painting which was our first art curriculum block as recommended by our art committee. This first three weeks we proceeded through a series of explorative processes with watercolor as a painting medium. These three weeks were led by Alison and assisted by Catherine, Demry and Melanie. The next three weeks the children were led in process painting as a style of artistic expression employing themes that urged them to tune into their emotional states. These three weeks were led by Catherine and Eva and assisted by Demry, Melanie and Melanye.
Our next art block chosen by our art committee members in Fiber. We began today by starting a sewing project. The intention with this project is to lay down some basic techniques and skills in working with fabric and then to move into some more experimental, student activated projects. Any and all suggestions are welcomed by parents to be discussed by members of our committee for study concepts or projects.
